The Pinkfong Company, the global entertainment company, today announced its partnership with Naver Webtoon's Line Manga, the largest webtoon service in Japan with over 10 million monthly active users, to bring "Moon Shark : From Underwater Princess to Celebrity", a hit webtoon series based on the world of Baby Shark, to Japan. Starting in May 2024, "Moon Shark : From Underwater Princess to Celebrity" will be available in Japanese on the Line Manga platform. The expansion to Line Manga is The Pinkfong Company's first foray into the world of digital comics in Japan, where webtoons and manga are immensely popular.

Co-produced with M Story Hub, the premium digital content company behind the WEBTOON hit “The Remarried Empress”, "Moon Shark" first debuted in South Korea on Naver Series and has captivated webtoon and web novel enthusiasts as well as Baby Shark fans across the nation. With its unique storytelling and vibrant illustrations, "Moon Shark" has gained immense popularity, creating a dedicated YouTube channel, special merchandise, and music albums.

"We are thrilled to bring our beloved "Moon Shark" to LINE MANGA and create an opportunity to connect with Japanese readers," said the official of The Pinkfong Company. “Expanding the world of Moon Shark is an important step in our journey to create engaging content across multiple genres and formats. We will continue to strive to create stories and content that resonate with audiences of all ages.”

Inspired by the world of Baby Shark, "Moon Shark" is a crossover romance fantasy that follows Sid, a shark princess of the undersea kingdom with a crush on a boy band member on land, as she comes to the human world and unexpectedly becomes a social media star. By realistically depicting K-pop fandom culture in a relatable way, the series resonates with readers of all ages, especially Generation Z. The series is scheduled for international release in 2024.

LINE Manga, a digital comic service launched in Japan in 2013, enables users to easily access and enjoy digital comics on their smartphones or tablets.
